Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 24, 2026

The short version

FestivalOS does not collect personal information. There is no account, no login, and no signup for attendees. The app stores a device push token (if you allow notifications) so your event's organizer can send you alerts. That's it.

Who we are

FestivalOS is an event companion app operated by Automated Software Systems LLC ("ASSL," "we," "us"), based in Norfolk, Nebraska, United States.

What we collect from attendees

The FestivalOS mobile app collects only:

  • Event code and cached event data. When you enter your event code, the app downloads that event's schedule, map, sponsor list, and safety info to your device. This is stored locally on your phone.
  • Push notification token. If you enable notifications, we store a device-level token that lets your event's organizer send you alerts (schedule changes, weather updates, safety information). This token is not tied to your identity — we do not know your name, email, phone number, or anything else about you.

We do not collect:

  • Your name, email address, or phone number
  • Your precise location or GPS data
  • Your contacts, photos, microphone, or any other device content
  • Analytics on your behavior in the app
  • Any data that could identify you personally

What we collect from event organizers

If you use our web dashboard (festival-os.com) to run an event, we collect the email address you sign in with and any content you publish for your event (schedule items, map data, sponsor info, announcements). This data is stored on our servers (powered by Supabase) and displayed to attendees of your events.

How your data is used

Attendee data (push tokens, cached event data) is used only to deliver the app's functionality. We do not sell it. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it for analytics or tracking. We do not transfer it to third parties except the minimum infrastructure providers needed to run the service (Supabase for data delivery, Apple for push notification delivery to iOS devices).

Organizer account data is used to authenticate you to the dashboard and deliver the services you request.

Data retention

Event cache data stored on your phone persists until you delete the app or manually clear it from the in-app Settings screen. Push tokens are removed from our servers when you uninstall the app or disable notifications.

Organizer account data is retained as long as you have an active account. You can request full deletion by emailing us at the address below.

Your rights

You have the right to request a copy of any data we hold about you, and the right to request deletion. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days.

Children

FestivalOS is rated 4+ and does not collect any identifying information from users of any age.

Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Organizer accounts are protected by one-time password authentication — we do not store passwords. Attendee data on your phone is encrypted by your device's operating system.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change how we handle data, we'll update the effective date above and notify organizers via email. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, United States.
